We envision a world where aquatic animals, acknowledged as sentient beings and crucial protein sources, live with minimal suffering. Our goal is to derive aquatic protein in a manner aligning with a 'life worth living’, utilising the latest scientific insights for utmost compassion.

Ethical farming and capture

In fish farms, our dream is to mirror nature's harmony. For wild capture fisheries, we advocate for humane methods that value the well-being of animals as highly as economic efficiency. It's not just about profit; it's about respecting every creature in the process.

Farming for the future

In the long term, our goal is to diminish dependence on overfished stocks and environmentally harmful aquaculture. We envision a world where alternative proteins, along with nutritious marine-derived options, play a significant role in addressing global food security.

Our strategy involves devising sustainable solutions with widespread benefits. Improving conditions for farmed aquatic animals not only boosts their health but also cuts down on antimicrobial usage, minimises fatalities, and results in a tastier end product.

This approach, synonymous with 'One Health' and 'One Welfare' in animal husbandry, should be applied universally across our food systems to promote a holistic approach to sustainability. The same holds true for wild-caught aquatic animals, where gentle methods and immediate processing, as practiced in some Japanese vessels, ensure optimal meat quality and minimal suffering, aligning with principles of ethical treatment and resource conservation.
