OUR STORY

Our journey to promote aquatic animal welfare started in 2021, and has been made possible through the generous support of impactful organisations and individuals who believe in our mission.

OUR ORIGINS

Ethical Seafood Research, in its current form, was born out of an Effective Altruism residency in Zanzibar in early 2023, generously funded by Daniel Yu of Wasoko. This transformative experience laid the foundation for our organisation, shaping our commitment to promoting the ethical production of aquatic-derived foods within Africa and beyond.
